Unbelievable Goodness

December 17th, 2017

There are verses of scripture that I read that will just stir a feeling in my heart to the point of wanting to jump out of my seat and yell it to whoever would hear.  That's the way I felt when I heard this verse (2 Corinthians 9:10-15).  Here Paul was addressing the Corinthians about the unlimited supply of goodness God has and gives to us to do the calling on our lives.  Over and over again God has spoken to us about plowing, planting, and harvesting,  While He has used many different verses of scripture to do it and even some people to confirm it He always brings me back to this original space of scripture.  While the plowing wasn't easy, breaking never plowed ground never is. It was so worth the sweat.  It built our faith,  While the planting has been scary, "will the ground accept the seed?", we realized it wasn't our seed to worry over, it was His.  And while the harvest has been, in our eyes, at times slow to come, we are beginning to see it happen.  We are seeing the seeds pushing through the dirt.  We see community building, women coming together to encourage and pray with and for each other. We see hearts changing and God moving.  We see those who don't know Christ beginning to question what it is that makes us different.  And while we are seeing seeds turn into sprouts, we are also seeing the enemy becoming uncomfortable.  He is trying to tell us we are small and not worthy.  Trying to stir us up into a place where God is not wanting us to go. I was caught off guard this week when I found this happening, but God is good and was quick to help me to realize, where strife is LOVE overcomes.  Wherever the enemy tries to come in, we must always remember LOVE covers all.  It requires discipline, focus, and a consistently soft heart.  That's tough, but when our eyes stay focused and our minds renewed we can remain where we need to be- planting more seeds and watching our own harvest grow instead of wondering what others are doing.  God is good and will continue to lead us into the new year, and new seeds to plant and fields maybe to plow.  We are looking forward to doing this with you.  Plowing, planting and harvesting in the goodness to give others hope and light in their dark places.  We give God thanks for you !!
